The authoritative meta-analysis on this subject, a.k.a. Sexy Executives, clearly proves the hypothesis that randomly enhanced face-like elements hardly hinder the recognition of the whole as "a face". If your strict proposal would be true, many of our fellow species would lose "face".

But even the great Robocop himself only barely has a face. Can something that approximates to something that barely has a face have a face?

I propose that the entropy of transformation can only reduce the given ‘faceness’ of any object. The laws of the universe are against the random enhancement of face-like elements, if you accept that ‘faceness’ is a manifestation of order.

I don’t think we can ask for philosophical help on this one. The greatest authority on things that look like faces must surely be us lot, no?
