Sony Europe would like you to know about its latest “viral” creation
It has made a joke! A funny web site about people addicted to social networking. Get ready to be amazed by the under-radar marketing power of the Social Media Addicts Association.
Very amusing. Haven’t bothered letting it load and pressing play yet, but it’s bound to be GREAT.
THE EXPLANATION
I just thought I’d send you a short email to let you know about a website we have recently produced: http://stopwritingonmywall.com. From looking at your site I thought you and your readers may enjoy some of the videos.
The site is the home of the Social Media Addicts Association, a self help group for people who can’t stop using Twitter, Facebook and other social media. It features a short video of one of the group’s regular meetings, and some information and advice for other social media addicts.
We created this site and the video for Sony Europe, and it’s an interesting new approach for the company because this is the first time it has used humorous viral content in this way, so we would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Surely you can’t actually call something like this ‘viral’ until it actually becomes viral? If popular, it may BECOME viral but until then it’s just an ‘advert’? And surely actually stating it’s paid for by Sony means it’s less likely to be accepted as something cool to mail to friends and more likely to be acepted as “tch, ‘nother advert”?
And what were they thinking mailing you this, exactly how much research have they done to think yet another attempted viral from sony would get a warm reception here? Or do they not know of the link to UK:R?
Or is this all just part of their plan and I’m being horribly naïve here?
Probably best if we all just ignore it and move on.
Got any more batteries?

2 minutes and 27 seconds?
I haven’t got time to waste viewing this rubbish.
I’ve got another half a dozen wanks to cram in before end of the day.

Here’s the missing ‘the’
August 13th, 2009 on 1:24 pm
Presumably they’ve bought a mailing list of SUCKERS that are desperate for content off the internet.
August 13th, 2009 on 1:30 pm
Tch, don’t we provide you enough content to be able to tell Sony to swivel, Idiot?
Some of us (i.e Phorenzik) have even given up jobs (i.e. been sacked) for you…

SNOT! There’s snot just after 1:42.
This video just became worth watching.

Tossers. It’s not even slightly funny.
It’s all been done a lot better before by non-corporate people and the sooner Sony realise they’ve somehow managed to have a total irony bypass at some point the better. Talk about arriving a bit late to the ‘making fun of social networking’ party. Jesus.
Yes, I’m in a bad mood.
Back to the wanking… maybe that’ll make me feel better, because I’m damned sure Sony won’t. Particularly as I’ve actually got a Vaio.
How’s that for irony?
August 13th, 2009 on 5:34 pm
That was, like, soooo funny!
August 13th, 2009 on 5:43 pm
Since I can no longer feel joy, I can’t really tell if that was funny or not.
I’m not here for the humour, anyway. I’m just visiting to see if another battery related post will push me over the edge and I can finally end it all.

I’d hand you some happiness, but my well went dry years ago. Here’s a well-meant, heart-warming emoticon instead:
I hear my smile does wonders. I’ve seen it make cripple girls run, anyway.

“SNOT! There’s snot just after 1:42.”
Not just a bit of snot either. It’s a full ribbon. Nice that Sony couldn’t be fucked with a second take.
