Gadgets with FACES #164: A missile at RAF Cosford
Incorporating Real-World Image Samples of the Canon SX200 IS!
“I was at the Cosford air museum last weekend, saw this submarine-launched missile / torpedoey thing and thought of you. I hope that makes you feel special. It looks like an anxious or self-conscious shark!”

“Seeing as I made you curious about the Canon SX200 IS via the comments, I took the pics on said camera and sent them full-res, with the EXIF data, as I know you like looking at that stuff. Cheers, and I hope I havent sent these huge files in vain!” – Andy.
Everything is in vain, Andy. Everything.

That whole thing can’t be launched by a submarine. Can it? It’d have to have a massive and madly complicated launch tube… Looks like it IS the submarine, the torpedo is the bit underneath the grimace.
So strictly the face is the result of the arrangment of two seperate objects. I’ll have to consult the stewards on this one…

Stewards say NO FACE.
They’re sorry though, it’s a nice item and a nice big ‘ole photo.

Bugger. I was also at the LMA show last weekend. How did I miss this face? Probably because I was carving a large cock and balls into the Mig at the back of the hangar
Good face though 8.577 out of 10

I might have to go to Cosford Air Museum now just to see if Badben’s made up stewards are wrong or not. Andy could’ve saved me the effort by providing the relevant information in the first place, poor show Andy.

Made up stewards are always wrong. Made up stewardesses are ok, since real life girls won’t look at you anyway.

I call in question the reliability of these stewards. Have they removed the torpedo in order to check the facial quality of what’s left? I suspect the remainder would somewhat resemble a caterpillar.

Stewards say I need to fuck off and get a life.

Sorry to be a missile-spotter, but it’s an Ikara missile launched AT submarines, not FROM them – so Badben’s right.

^ – I see. I guess that teaches me to pay more attention to the texty bits in museums :-/

Actually, i think i remember it now – i remember wondering what ikara meant, as it sounds a bit like ikaruga…

It means “throwing stick” in Aboriginee, apparently. And no I didn’t make that up. Although someone on Wikipedia may have.
