Toasters with ALTERNATE FUNCTIONS #1: The Tefal Toast ‘n’ Egg TT550015 Toaster and Egg Maker
Yes, from this you may correctly deduce that the EXTRA-LAST* office kitchen is about ready to have its toasting facilities upgraded.

It is the Tefal Toast ‘n’ Egg TT550015 Toaster and Egg Maker. The idea for this new feature is based around the fact we saw another toaster that’s also a radio. That’s two things, which is enough things to make a thing out of.
If anyone has any good toaster recommendations, get them in. The Philips kettle recommended some time ago is doing a great job.

We may also branch out into TOASTER LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY. Toasters, basically, are the short-to-medium term future of this exciting new internet venture.
*It’s just not the same

Smug cunt Danny Wallace has one of these in his house and showed it off during the unfunny gadget-based TV show "Batteries Not Included" on Dave. It did not work effectively.

so this is the new IT-EL "feature"?

I stood staring in wonder at one of these in Tesco once for a good few seconds before I remembered I hate egg.

I like a Dualit toaster with 4 slots. Expensive, I know, but mine has so far lasted at least 5 times longer then all the previous £20 toasters I've bought. Stylish(ish), reliable and fixable if you've got a soldering iron. Reasurring "tickety tickety tick" old school timer mechanism. Nice evenly toasted toast.

Tempted by the dualits but put off by price. Tempted to buy a broken one off ebay and fix with my soldering iron.
What I really want is a 4-slice version of the krups fem2. Mainly because the pop-up mechanism doesn't seem flimsy like most other toasters, but I can't be bothered with just 2 slices at a time, that's for girls.
Might have another look at the dualits now Badben has given such a sterling recommendation though.
Unless anyone knows somewhere in the uk that sells a 4-slice krups for a not-silly price (dualits, I'm looking at you again…)

Dualits don't have a pop-up mechanism – you have to manually raise your toast using your own strengh, cunningly magnified through a series of levers. Well one lever anyway. Basically you push on a lever. HOWEVER, you can strike the lever forcefully, causing the toast to follow a parabolic escape path, directly onto your plate. Mornings NEVER WERE such fun.

Live exposed wires with a water feature attached to it… what could possibly go wrong?

Badben "Mornings NEVER WERE such fun."
And thus speaks a man who's never been woken with oral sex.

I'm happy to see that we are picking up nicely from where the old Idiot Toys left off.

The new name has grown on me (Has it really been two days already?). Extra Last.. has the ring of someone who comes in not only last in the great game of life.. but EXTRA last. How fitting.

Oh bugger. Double post. How embarrasing. Good thing this thread is dead then. Just me here.. whistling away, slowly undressing.

That's OK. I'm just glad so many people have turned up. It's like looking down on my own funeral and seeing that it's not just my mum in the church. There must be at least seven people here, so it's not a disaster.
And I've almost stopped typing "everlast" or "extralife" myself as well now.
Still can't think of a new name, though. Would "Al Kaline" be too much like a 1980s US sitcom joke?

Well that's not really a toaster then is it? More of a burnt bread maker. A sliced bread charring device with manual ejection mechanism.
